Sphere

Today I was able to work on my sphere.  I think that the shadow is too dark so next class I will have to fix that.  I am having a lot of problems recreating the shadow because of the edges and how dark it needs to be.  Also today I added the spotlight and I think that it looks nice.  Overall I think that if I keep working with the sphere it will eventually be perfect.

Sphere

This is my sphere that I have started to work on, and I think it is coming along nicely.  I had to start over because my first sphere did not look good, it definitely looked very over worked.  This sphere is coming along well and I think that all of the shading looks good and hopefully next class I will be able to create a nice shadow.

Brush Flow

These are the two pictures where I was able to created a flow across the picture.  I have noticed that it was a lot more difficult to blend colors that were not similar like the pink and green but overall I think that it is a good representation of blending colors.

Brush Testing

On these pictures I used the brush tools to make different pictures.  On the first picture I thought it was really cool all of the textures you could create with the brush and I think that some of the brushes create cooler textures if their opacity and flow is changed.  On the second picture I was just changing the flow and opacity to see how I could blend different colors. With the third picture I used the brush tools to kind of create a scene, I like how all of the different colors blend together in this picture.

Painting 1

This is the first painting I worked on and so I just focused on the flow and opacity tool.  One of the things I think will be harder is blending out the colors, but at some parts I think it looks cool layered.  I think I like the flow tool better because it seems a lot more natural than the opacity tool.

One Point Perspective Room

Today I worked on the one point perspective picture.  I was able to create a door and a window, I think that they both look good and they look like they are reaching back into the center of the picture.  I think that I might need to fix the window but besides that I think that this project is going well.

One point perspective room

This is my one point perspective room.  I was able to create all of the lines necessary in order to create the illusion of the room in the distance, and all of my line that go away from the center were all started at the vanishing point.  I think that I will need to fix some of my layers and create folders for them next class.

One Point Perspective: Vanishing Point

This is my Vanishing Point image, I have eight lines that lead to the vanishing point which is in the center of the image.  All of the diagonal lines in the picture lead to this point which makes it a 1 point perspective.  Also all of the vertical lines are strait up and down in this picture and they are noted by the blue lines.  The green line is the horizontal line for this picture.

Haunted House

I worked on the shading of the scene today.  I tried to make it so that the colors sort of matched but also gave it more of a creepier vibe.  I also filled in the bottom space a little bit to make it look like the house is actually sitting there not one picture on top of another.  Overall I still need to work on the creepiness of the house by adding textures.

Animation Finished

I was able to load the gorilla as a web file and so now you can see the animation,  I lined up the gorilla using the ruler tool and so  I think it is a finished project.

Animation

Today I worked on the animation in class, I was able to get quite far in it.  I think next class that I will need to line up the pictures better so it is not as choppy.  Overall though I was quite plesed with it and I need to figure out how to save it to the web so it can be a video.

Haunted House 4

Today I added a lot to the windows and doors in order to make the house much more creepy.  The problem I have with it now is that it does not really match the house at this moment but I am hoping that with the color saturation and the things you can change it will look better.  I still need to add a foreground but I think I will need to make the house smaller because right now you would not really be able to see any grass.  Also I need to add textures to the house and backround and I think that will be my next step.

Haunted House 3

Today I was able to add some broken windows to my pictures.  Also I cut out the house a little bit better than it was before.  Though I still need to work on the ground and getting that to match the backround picture.  Overall I think my picture is going well.

Haunted House Day 2

Today in class I was able to work on using the healing brush to replace some of the wires on the house.  I also cut it out better today and I think that the replacement in looking nice.

Haunted House Day 1

This is the start of my haunted house.  I was able to cut it out but I did not get a lot of time to work on it today.

Spider Doo Final

Today in class I finished the spider doo picture, overall I thought it was pretty hard to create because it involved a lot of detailed steps.  Today I was able to complete the picture by adding the spider doo symbol which was very easy to do because you just had to cut it out.  Also last class I finally figured out how to change his eye color back to normal along with his tongue and nose.  Overall I think the picture turned out nicely I worked really hard on making sure it was as perfect as I could do.  Though I think there is a slight problem with the size of Scooby's head it seems a little large and disproportionate, but I did not think that there were any better pictures of his head.  Throughout this process I was able to learn about all the tools and how to apply them.

Spider Doo Day 4

On day four I was able to crop the picture and and turn his eyes, nose, and mouth back to a normal color.  They were all very easy steps and I was able to complete them well.

Spider Doo Day 3

Today in class i did not get as much done because we started to work on the haunted house project.  Though I was able to make his mask fit his face and cut the mask so that it fits well.  I also had to rebuild a little on his cheek because that is where the eye used to be and so there was hole.  I thought it was hard to rebuild because I do not know if it actually turned out to look good.  Also I still need to figure out how to change his eyes and tongue back to a normal color.

Haunted House

These are the five houses I chose to look at for my haunted house, I chose them because they were all a little creepy and I thought these would be easy to work with.

Spider Doo Day 2

Today I accomplished cropping the picture, making the dog face red, and cutting out the spider man mask, and trying to crop the mask to fit the head.  It was pretty easy to get the perfect shade of red but I might change it before the final if it does not look good.  Also cutting out the spider man mask was really easy because I just had to make sure I could that the squares were cut out.  I had a hard time with cropping the mask so I plan to work on the more next class.  I also need to figure out how to get the eyes and the tongue back to normal because right now they are pink.

Spider Doo Day 1

Today in class I was able to get started on the spider doo project.  I cut out the Scooby head and tried to align it with the spider body, I do not know if the proportions are alright but I am hoping I will be able to figure that out soon.  I also cut out the spider head so that I would know where the scooby head needs to fit in, I do not know if I should make the head bigger because of the white space because the healing brush tool was not working very well.  I think that I chose a good head for this picture because the head is almost facing the same way as the body and the shadows seem to be lining up fairly well.

Zebra Rhino Final

This is my final picture for the zebra rhino project, I was able to transform a zebra to match a rhino's body using the transform tool and the liquify tool.  By using these tools I was able to complete the picture without much pixelation.  I also cut off the bottom of the legs in order to make them fit correctly on the body, I added some grass to the middle of the two front legs because I did not think that I could cover the large rhino leg with the skinny zebra leg.  After this I added shadows to the zebra to make the picture look more dimensional.  Throughout this project I had a few struggles but over all I was able to complete a nice looking picture.

Zebra Rhino Day 3

Today in class I was able to work on the shadowing of the figure.  I had to make the gut really defined and add dimension to the picture as a whole.  I think now the picture is a lot better because the creature looks more real because of the dimensions added.  I thought it was pretty easy to add the shadows because I just had to think about how the light is hitting the figure and where the shadows would lay in comparison to the rest of the body.  I still need to work on the horns and making them match the rest of the body and I plan to do that next class.

Zebra-Rhino Day 2

Today I continued working on the Zebra-Rhino Project and I was able to make a lot of progress.  I used the warp tool to put the zebra in the right place aline the body parts of the two animals. It was really easy to match the top of the body but doing the legs and face was a lot harder because they can get to a point at which they are distorted.  I had a hard time making the legs match up and I stil feel that the two front legs are a little skinny.  I do not know how I am going to make the rhino horns with the zebra print because it always starts to look distorted.  Overall I was able to make some progresss on the project.

Rhino-Zebra

Today I started to work on the rhinozebra picture, I was able to cut out most of the zebra to reveal the rhino behind him.  I still need to line them up but I did not have enough time.  So far this picture is going well because I was able to cut out the zebra pretty well.

Final Statue of Liberty

For this project I created a cut out of the Statue of Liberty using the magic wand and the polygon lasso tool. I was able to create the perfect cut out by following the line of the statue and using the contrast of color to determine whether the part that I was cutting out was a part of the sky or a part of the of the statue.  The easiest part to cut out was the bottom because they are straight lines so it is not hard to create the perfect cut out.  I would say that the hardest part was the crown because the spokes sort of faded into the sky and it was hard to cut out the purple without the crown looking to spikey.  In the end I was able to create the perfect cut out of the Statue of Liberty.

Statue of Liberty

During class today I worked on creating a cut out of the Statue of Liberty.  I first used the magic wand tool to get a decent cut out without doing any work so that I would just have to work on the edges.  So to get a clean edge I used the polygon cut out tool because I thought it worked the best to get a good outline.  Today I got a lot done on the Statue of Liberty cut out.

Dog Final

For this project we had to change some of the surrounding area by taking out people, trees, and telephone wires.  I found that it was hardest to take out the tree trunk that was in front of other trees because you had to match up the trees that were behind it while still making all the trees seem real .  I thought it was fairly easy to take out the telephone wire shadows because you just had to match up the color of the sand.  I think that I am getting a lot better at matching colors when replacing something and blending in the surrounding area to the object that I replaced.

Car Removal Final

For this project I removed some of the poles by using the healing brush tool and replacing the poles with parts of the sky.  Overall that was easy because it was not as hard to blend the sky but I had to make sure that I followed the gradient the sky has or else the colors would not match.  Removing the car was  a lot more difficult because it was covering a lot of surfaces that had different shading and colors.  I would say that the hardest part was getting the side walk to match up because it seemed to change in front of and behind the car.  Removing the car hard but i think I was able to blend in the colors of the street and made it look like there was never a car there.

Brothers Project Final

To change the look of this guys face I used the liquify tool to stretch out the pixels and create a different face.  I found it most difficult to keep the face looking real, sometimes if I stretched the face one way the sizing and dimension of his face would be off.  It was very hard to keep the eyes looking normal because stretching the face around them would change the way they looked and his eyes would be deformed.  Using the liquify tool I was able to creat a face that some what looked like the one before and therefore I was able to create a brother.
